JOHN RADFORD

John Radford started out working in the food trade in 1966, supplying fresh produce to the retail and catering industry, and switched to wine in 1972. He first visited Spain in 1974 on behalf of his employer and immediately fell in love with the country, its scenery, lifestyle, food and wine.

He started lecturing on wine in 1975 and writing about it in 1977, and has since been published in most of the principal wine and food magazines, as well as writing the Spanish Wine Education Notes for the Spanish Export Commerce Institute from 1989 to 2001. He lectures on wines for the WSET Diploma, Plumpton College (University of Brighton) and to private institutions, wine clubs and gastronomic societies and has published a number of award winning books regarding wine. John is currently the editor of Yes Chef! Magazine.

Outside of the wine industry he has been a broadcaster for 20 years, 12 of them with the BBC.

INÉS BAIGORRI

Founded in 1990, the Association of Bodegas of Rioja Alavesa currently represents the interests and wines of 125 cellars in the region, to both the home and international markets. Inés Baigorri Uribe has been its Managing Director since 2009, following 7 years experience of working in cellars within the region after gaining her degree in Viticulture, Enology, Tasting and Wine Management. Inés is passionate about Rioja Alavesa and its quality wines and is committed to widening its reach and boosting exports.

Patricia Langton is the former wine editor of Drinks International and Off Licence News. She has been writing about wine since 1995.

Patricia became a freelance journalist in 2006 specialising in Spanish wine and travels to Spain regularly for both business and pleasure. Her work has appeared in publications including Spain Gourmetour, Square Meal Lifestyle, Off Licence News, Harpers Wine & Spirit, The Drinks Business and on websites such as decanter.com and winesfromspainuk.com. Patricia is also the co-author of 500 White Wines with Natasha Hughes (Apple Press, published 2009).
